Prevent Melting Snow & Ice From Entering Your Home

Destructive ice dams will tear gutters and shingles right off your house. They also cause water to back up, leak into your attic, and pour into your ceilings and walls. The effects can be devastating: mold, mildew, soaked drywall, peeling paint, stained wallpaper, ruined carpet and warped floors. In addition, the wet insulation in your attic and walls may begin to mold. Plus, wet insulation will no longer keep you warm. Overall, an ice dam on your roof means you are headed for an expensive disaster.

About Ice Dam Cutter

Ice Dam Cutters are made from high grade aluminum and patented self-regulating heating elements. The heating element turns on automatically at 35 degrees Fahrenheit and turns off when the temperature reaches 45 degrees. The heating element runs in your gutter, eliminating the need for a separate gutter cable. Unlike most ice melt systems that are very costly to operate, the Heated Shingle Ice Dam Cutter element is designed to regulate its heat output to maximize melting yet conserve on your energy bills.

Major benefits of Heated Shingle Ice Dam Cutter include:

  • Automatically turns on and off

  • No separate gutter cables

  • Made from high-grade aluminum

  • Usable on all roof types

Can ice dams be prevented? There are several approaches, but the simplest is to melt vertical channels through the snow and ice build up along the eave edge of a roof. That way the water behind the ice can drain off the roof before it pools and leaks into the house. Heated Shingle Ice Dam Cutter is designed to do just that; to use controlled heat to melt a channel through eave edge snow and ice – and that channel allows the roof to drain thus preventing ice dams.

Keeps your home dry and warm

By creating water run-off channels on your roof, water is less-likely to leak through your roof, walls or ceiling. This also keeps your insulation dry and functional.
